Many Bay Area employers offer matching gift programs that double (or more) your donation to Belmont Community Foundation—often for employees, spouses, and retirees via their HR or benefits portals. You initiate a matching request through your employer. Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are charitable giving accounts offered by financial institutions like Fidelity, Vanguard or Schwab, Stifel. You contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to the DAF—typically getting an immediate tax deduction—then recommend grants to qualified nonprofits like us over time, making them a flexible, increasingly popular way to manage philanthropy. Per IRS rules, your gift date is when funds reach our brokerage account. Learn more about DAFs here.
